A recent interview with Jeff Bridges revealed that despite the tumor’s significant reduction, the road to full recovery from COVID-19 has been challenging and protracted.
For AARP’s most recent cover story, the well-known actor gave an open and frank interview in which he discussed his battles with cancer and the coronavirus as well as his uncertainty about going back to work in the midst of all of this.
As Jeff gets ready to resume filming for The Old Man’s second season, a marble-sized tumor that was once inside his stomach, a mass measuring nine by twelve inches, has lessened.
He made his cancer diagnosis public in October 2020. He exclaimed with joy that his illness had entered remission in September 2021.
In an interview with AARP, he admitted, “I didn’t know I had a 9 by 12-inch tumor in my body while I was filming those battle sequences for The Old Man’s debut episode. ”.
The actor now has cause for optimism after learning that his tumor has significantly shrunk.
But he has had a harder time recovering from COVID-19. The illness struck while Jeff was undergoing cancer treatment, severely taxing his already compromised immune system. He acknowledged that his healing was still ongoing.
He spoke candidly about the methodical process of regaining his strength, stating that “setting relatively tiny goals was a big part of getting well.
My previous best was 45 seconds before passing out, and at first they would ask, “How long can you stand?”. Then they started saying, “Oh, see, you’ve been standing still for a while! Can you walk five feet now, please?”.
At this difficult time, Bridges had to face his mortality while coping with two illnesses. Additionally, he pondered whether he would be able to return to his job if he survived.
I really didn’t think I would ever work again, he acknowledged.
