Faith appears to be taking a backseat in the world we live in today. Personally, I don’t think it’s advantageous to society, and I most certainly wouldn’t advise people to abandon their religious beliefs, but sadly, that seems to be the direction things are going. Of course, there are still those who openly proclaim the strength of their beliefs and the healing that faith is capable of bringing. Chris Pratt, a Hollywood A-lister, seems to be just as steadfast when it comes to his faith as celebrities like Mark Wahlberg and Vince Gill, who have risked criticism in defense of their beliefs.
At a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 premiere, the beloved actor was present. 3 recently when asked about the criticism he gets. In his response, Pratt compared the hatred he receives to that of Jesus Christ 2,000 years ago and said it was nothing new.
LOS ANGELES, CA – JUNE 06: On June 6, 2022, in Los Angeles, California, Chris Pratt is spotted at “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”. According to Pratt, who was speaking to Page Six, “That’s nothing new, that’s nothing new, you know.
“They would love me just as much if I were from this world, but as it is, I’ve chosen from another. John 15: 18–20 are those verses. “That’s how it is; it’s nothing new; they also despised him (Jesus) 2,000 years ago. “Over the past ten years, the career of the 43-year-old has only gotten better. The roles he played in movies like Zero Dark Thirty (2013), the Jurassic World trilogy, and The Terminal List (2022) brought him a ton of success. Despite his notoriety and stature, Pratt recently faced criticism before resuming his role as Star-Lord in the Guardians of the Galaxy film series from Marvel. He received a lot of criticism in connection with 2019 rumors that claimed he frequented a church that was anti-LGBTQ+.
At the time, Pratt responded to those rumors by writing: “It has recently been suggested that I belong to a church which ‘hates a certain group of people’ and is ‘infamously anti-LGBTQ. It is impossible for anything to be falser. I attend a church where anyone is welcome. Despite the fact that no church defines me or my life, my faith is important to me, he continued. In response to the most recent criticism he has received from his detractors, who include a variety of online trolls, Pratt insisted that Jesus’ struggles have been an inspiration to him.
Additionally, the actor seems to have a pretty strong approach to handling haters. He declared, “Like a rhino, stick your head down, keep moving forward, have thick skin, and if anyone gets in your way, stick the horn right up their ass!”.
I’m not sure how you feel about people like Christ Pratt, but I’m incredibly proud of them for being able to discuss their faith in such an frank and open way. Share your thoughts in the comments if you believe that your faith is strong.
