Adoptable Rescued Pups The poor dog was called a “Werewolf” by people who had no idea what kind of animal he was. They lacked the courage to approach closely enough to find out. When a bystander saw him at the end of March, she quickly posted about him on Facebook from her vehicle.
Then, until assistance arrived, the woman waited by the dog. Megan Bowe, another animal hero, arrived on the scene shortly after. Facebook/Bowe’s Adoptable Rescued Pups Megan Bowe, the company’s founder, tells The Dodo, “I was about ready to cry when I saw how bad off he was.”. “He was really near the end. He was so depressed that he had trouble even getting to his feet. ”.
This “werewolf” was actually a very ill and neglected German shepherd mix, as Megan immediately realized. He was given the name “King” by her. She then loaded him into her car and took him to a veterinary emergency clinic. King was happy to accompany Megan and appeared relieved to finally receive assistance, according to Facebook/Bowe’s Adoptable Rescued Pups.
The vet found that King had a number of illnesses and wounds.
The scabies, broken pelvis, and broken tail were his most serious ailments, though.
King was only a year old, despite the fact that he seemed quite old.
Facebook/Bowe’s Adoptable Rescued Pups “My vet thinks he got hit by a car, and that would explain how his tail was so messed up, too,” Megan Bowe says. “That injury occurred months ago because by the time I found him, the incorrect healing process had already begun.
He was extremely skinny and dehydrated because he couldn’t move very far to look for food on his own due to the damage to his pelvis. Facebook/ Bowe’s Adoptable Rescued Pups Due to King’s contagious illnesses, Megan set up a quarantine area in her garage so that King could recover without contaminating the other animals she looked after. In order to help King regain his weight and strength at the proper rate, she began feeding him in small portions and gradually increased them.
Before having surgery on his tail and pelvis, King needed all the strength he could muster.

The was obviously appreciative despite being injured and frail. He’s a really loving dog, says Megan of Bowe’s Adoptable Rescued Pups on Facebook. King leans his head against Megan as soon as she takes a seat, seemingly intending to embrace her.
Megan notes that throughout it all, “he has been so composed and at ease.”. King’s condition started to get better about a month into his treatment, according to Facebook/Bowe’s Adoptable Rescued Pups. He grew stronger and his mange disappeared. He was finally healthy enough a few weeks ago to undergo surgery on his pelvis and tail. The operations were successful, according to Facebook/Bowe’s Adoptable Rescued Pups!
To strengthen his leg, King now takes daily walks as directed by his veterinarian. King will return to the vet by the end of the month to be checked on for healing and to have his stitches taken out. He may require surgery on his other hip as well once he has fully recovered from the initial procedures.
Facebook/ Bowe’s Adoptable Rescued Pups It’s been a long journet for King, but all his progress is making the situation look much brighter than it was a few months ago. King and the terrifying “werewolf” that people were afraid of back then are very different from one another today.
King will be fully recovered in a few months, claims Megan, via Facebook/Bowe’s Adoptable Rescued Pups.
He’ll then be up for adoption. Facebook/Bowe’s Adoptable Rescued Pups “He is happier than ever now,” Megan says of King. “He enjoys everything about his new life, including eating doggie ice cream, going for walks, and riding in the car with the windows rolled down.”. She finds it hard to believe that anyone would allow someone to be ill and undernourished to stand by the side of the road.
It’s difficult to imagine that all those cars drove by without ever stopping. He looked so awful that no one wanted to help or bring him home. “But all it took was one person,” Megan says.
