A mixture of excitement and apprehension can come with learning that you are going to become a parent for the first time. Most mothers prefer to have a birth plan, or an idea of how they want to deliver their child. Nicole Ziesemer chose to give birth at home without the use of any drugs because she wanted to follow a more natural path. She had Matthew’s support as they got ready for the birth of their child.
The couple was aware of their due date, but since they had not had even a single ultrasound, they were unable to determine the gender of the child.
According to WPXI News, Nicole said, “This was my first pregnancy, so it was all new to me.”.
The Michigan couple were anxious and excited when Nicole went into labor at 36 weeks. But because the baby was due early, she would need medical attention, so she had to give birth in a hospital. The easiest obstacle they would face that evening would be driving through a lot of snow because Nicole had a very long and challenging birth.

Given how much Nicole was struggling, Nicole’s plans for a more natural birth would have to be abandoned, according to Matthew. “Really got contractions going,” he said. “After watching her suffer for the last 30 hours pushing and breathing and screaming I knew we had to do something else so I consulted several people and Nicole and we decided to start a small dose of pitocin; well this really got contractions going and got her dilated to a 10.”. Blakeley Faith Ziesemer was born to them at 10:06 p.m. after 48 hours. m. on Dec. 30th, according to WZZM.

Despite the fact that I tend to be more of a natural person, things do happen for a reason, and there are times when medical intervention is necessary. This was one of those times. God undoubtedly has a bigger plan for us, and He has shown us that we have no control over anything in our lives, wrote Matthew on Facebook. Please spread the word to offer this lovely couple your congratulations on the birth of their adorable children.
