More than 60 years after he first started performing, Rod Stewart is attempting to move beyond the rock ‘n’ roll genre.
Following his upcoming summer tour, the Grammy winner said in a recent interview with BBC Breakfast that he will soon release a new swing album.

According to the 78-year-old performer, “I’m not retiring, but I want to go on. Since The Great American Songbook was a success and I recently collaborated with Jools Holland on a swing album that will be released the following year, I want to go down that path.
Additionally, Stewart stated that he wanted “to leave the rock ‘n’ roll stuff behind, for a while. ”.
The musician continued by saying that everything must come to an end eventually and that he is in a “good place” with the pivot.
Stewart expressed his eagerness to try new things, particularly singing with Jools’ band. The only songs missing are “Maggie May” and “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?” but it still approaches rock ‘n’ roll.
The early 1960s saw the start of the musician’s musical career, and he has since played in a number of bands, including the well-known Faces.
He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Songs like “Tonight’s the Night (Gonna Be Alright),” “You’re in My Heart (The Final Acclamation),” and the aforementioned have helped him become popular since the release of his debut solo album, An Old Raincoat Won’t Ever Let You Down, in 1969.
Stewart recorded a number of CDs in the 2000s featuring songs from The Great American Songbook. With the release of his album Soulbook in 2009, Stewart took a turn toward the soul subgenre.
He is about to embark on a tour of Europe that will last until July 22. He’ll depart for North America the following week for a performance run that will last until September. After performing a few times in Brazil and more frequently in North America, he will resume his Las Vegas residency in November.
