Luke Bryan’s mother LeClaire recalled the occasion when her country star son and his wife Caroline adopted their nieces Jordan and Kris and nephew Til after both the children’s parents passed away in one of the few somber moments during a live taping of the Got It From My Momma podcast at Nashville’s CMA Fest last week.

Oh, man, that was incredible. LeClaire asked Caroline Bryan, who was sitting by her side, “I mean, what do you do?” for the podcast’s host Jennifer Vickery Smith. “They essentially just said, ‘Here we are, let’s keep it all together,'” said the speaker. Everyone was inconsolable, and praise the Lord Luke and Caroline simply opened their homes and hearts to them, taking them in. ”.

Luke Bryan’s Mom Shares the ‘Amazing’ Way He Kept the Family Together After Tragedy

The superstar of the country music industry is well-known for both his huge country hits and his lovable antics, but his family has also experienced tragedy on a number of occasions. When Kelly, Bryan’s older sister, unexpectedly passed away in 2007 from unidentified causes, she left behind her husband Ben Lee Cheshire and their three kids. Seven years later, in late 2014, Cheshire passed away, leaving the children—at the time, Jordan, 16, Kris, and Til, 13—without a living parent.

Along with their own two sons, Tate and Bo, Bryan and Caroline adopted the children and brought them up. Watch LeClaire recall the tragic events of losing her daughter and later witnessing Bryan take over the responsibility of raising the children by pressing the play button on the video below.

LeClaire and Caroline later revealed that they now have matching tattoos on their wrists as a tribute to Kelly. Red birds, said LeClaire.
