Anyone who has ever had to put their dog to sleep understands what a heartbreaking experience it is. But occasionally, there isn’t any other choice. It is the kindest thing to do when the suffering has lasted for too long. I sincerely hope you never go through it, but if you do, it’s critical that you stick by your best friend’s side through it all. No dog should have to pass away in the presence of strangers while being terrified. In this particular tale, Starfish the puppy was discovered in a box with her legs bent strangely. She was found and taken immediately to the vet, where it was predicted that she would need to be put to sleep. It was impossible to help her because she had already been injured.

Vet gives puppy death sentence, reaches for needle – then boss takes look at her paws and shouts out

The veterinarian hated to put the dog to sleep, but it was simply too damaged. It wasn’t right to keep her alive. But just as Starfish was about to be put to sleep, the shelter’s director walked into the room and stopped the execution.

She was looking for a second opinion on Starfish, per The Dodo. So they took the puppy to a different doctor. A more encouraging prognosis was given following a thorough examination.

“Swimmer Puppy Syndrome” was a condition that Starfish had simply acquired from birth. She might, however, be completely cured with the right assistance. Starfish didn’t appear to be able to walk like a normal puppy and seemed more suited to swimming. However, she exuded a genuine charm. It didn’t take long before a family wanted to adopt her. “The little dog won our hearts. Leigh Anne Gray, the owner, claims that “she taught us something we’d never seen before.”.

“I simply attached so swiftly when I saw Starfish. “You couldn’t pick her up like you would a typical puppy. She was so flat you had to hold her sideways. But I simply grabbed her and held onto her. The entire family supported Starfish on her path to normalcy right away. Leigh Anne remarked, “All we had to do was get her feet up underneath her.

“And as soon as we got her onto the grass, she had a little something to hold onto, she’d follow us anywhere. Leigh Anne and her family weren’t the only ones who wanted Starfish to succeed, though. Even the animal shelter’s employees pitched in. She is unaware that anything is wrong with her. All she does is stand up and repeat. Every single day, it improves a little bit. “Starfish was able to stand on her own after only two months. She soon began running like any other puppy.

The resilient dog’s recovery was a source of pride and joy for the family. “That tenacity, that zest for life, was missing for me. I consider it a blessing that she found us. Try not to cry when you watch the video below about Starfish, who was only a few seconds away from passing away before becoming a healthy, happy dog with a promising future.
