On Monday, July 3, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani celebrated their second wedding anniversary. Both celebrities commemorated the event with throwback photos of their wedding day.
Shelton tells Stefani that he still loves her just as much as he did on the day of their wedding on a short and lovely note.
The singer posts, “Happy anniversary Gwen!!!! Since I met you, every day has been the finest day ever.”
Shelton posted a photo from their wedding day to go along with his greeting on the couple’s anniversary. He is seen kissing his newlywed at the reception when they are both dressed to the nines and standing next to their multi-tiered, custom-built wedding cake.
The cake featured in the country singer’s anniversary tweet was meticulously arranged, just like Stefani and Shelton’s wedding ceremony.
The cake was a sentimental homage to Stefani’s family history, the pair disclosed after their wedding: They hired a boutique bakery to make a replica of the cake that Stefani’s parents served at their nuptials, replete with a free-hand piping style.
The bride’s opulent Vera Wang gown also featured a special touch: Stefani embroidered the names of her three sons, Shelton, and herself into the veil she wore as she walked down the aisle.
Stefani remembered the couple’s special day on their second anniversary as well, but this time she posted a video montage of several of their favorite moments throughout the years rather than just one snapshot.
The film takes a look back at their time together as they spent time with Stefani’s three children, entered the Grand Ole Opry, and celebrated Shelton’s final episode of The Voice. If you look closely, you might even find an old video of Shelton celebrating Easter in an enormous pink bunny costume!
The song “True Babe,” is a love song inspired by Stefani’s romance with her country music star husband.
When both of them served as coaches for a season of The Voice in 2014, Shelton and Stefani first met. After Shelton’s divorce from fellow country music artist Miranda Lambert and Stefani’s divorce from Gavin Rossdale, they started dating the following year.
The couple made their engagement public in October 2020, and on July 3, 2021, they exchanged vows in a chapel that had been erected especially for the occasion on their Oklahoma property.
