Michael and Alan starred in the acclaimed Netflix comedy The Kominsky Method.

Michael Douglas sent a heartfelt memorial to his friend and fellow Oscar winner Alan Arkin after learning of his passing at the age of 89.

In The Kominsky Method, Michael wrote under a photo of the pair, “Today we lost a brilliant actor whose brilliance, sense of humor, and excellent professionalism over the past 70 years has left an indelible mark on our business. ”.

“One of my most treasured experiences was working with Alan,” the author said.
A lot of people miss him.
Our deepest condolences go out to his family and his wife, Suzanne,” Michael said.

For two seasons, Michael and Alan co-starred in the Emmy-nominated comedy The Kominsky Method. Sandy Kominsky (played by Michael) is a former actor who now works as an acting teacher. Alan played Norman Newlander, Sandy’s agent.

Michael won Best Actor – Television Series Musical or Comedy at the 2019 Golden Globes, defeating Alan, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actor – Television Series Musical or Comedy. For their contributions to the show, both were nominated for 2019 and 2020 Emmy Awards.

This is awful. “You were a wonderful couple in The Kominsky Method Mr. Arkin will be remembered,” one admirer wrote on Michael’s post, while another praised their “pure genius” working together on the show.

“I’m heartbroken and immediately thought of you. In The Kominsky Method, you two were fantastic. Alan Arkin was an exceptional actor. Another follower expressed their “sincere condolences,” adding that they hoped his memory would bring them blessings. An outstanding actor has left the world.
”.

Alan and Michael first conversed prior to the start of their 2018 comedy’s filming. We should have lunch together, I insisted. He responded “no” about 55 times. I was a little in awe of him as an actor at the time, Michael responded to Alan’s joke.
At last, he consented.
”.

He subsequently admitted to the Star Tribune that he hadn’t necessarily done much comedy. “I feel like I’m learning something new every time I get the chance to work with someone like Alan, who is so skilled at timing and knowledgeable about it. It has been a true treat. ”.

The well-liked performer Alan, who starred in numerous films and plays and received an Oscar for his performance in the 2006 film Little Miss Sunshine, died at the age of 89. His family confirmed the depressing news in a statement, saying:.

“As an artist and a person, our father was a force of nature. In addition to being a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he was adored and will be sorely missed.

In Little Miss Sunshine, a comedy about a family road trip, where he only had a fleeting 14-minute cameo, Edwin Hoover’s irritated family patriarch stole the show and earned him the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award.

Alan, a 1934-born immigrant to Chicago, developed his comedic skills with the renowned improvisational group Second City after moving there in 1960 when he was 26 years old. He moved to Broadway in 1961 to star in a production with a Second City theme, and two years later, in Enter Laughing, he won the Tony Award.

His big-screen debut occurred in 1967 thanks to the comedy The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming by Norman Jewison. Among many other notable screen appearances are his roles in the Audrey Hepburn thriller Wait Until Dark, the comedy Grosse Pointe Blank, and several Pink Panther movies where he took Peter Sellers’ place as Inspector Clouseau.
