The cause of death of actor Matthew Perry, best known for his role as Chandler Bean on the hit sitcom Friends, remains unknown, although an autopsy was inconclusive.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office said toxicology tests are still pending to determine the exact cause and manner of death. On October 28, Perry, 54, was found dead in the hot tub at her Pacific Palisades home in Los Angeles. She was reported to have drowned, but no drugs were found at the scene and foul play is not suspected. There have been many speculations and rumors about his death. While some expected a cold-blooded murder, others believed in a revenge killing. Perry has long struggled with alcohol and drug addiction, which she revealed in her 2022 memoir, Friends, Lovers and Something Bigger.
“Hello, my name is Matthew. But maybe you know me by another name. My friends call me Marty. And I must die,” he wrote in his memoirs. Perry rose to fame as one of the stars of Friends, which was one of the most popular shows on American television from 1994 to 2004. After Friends, Perry appeared in Studio 60’s Sunset Strip, Mr. Carry On Into the Sunlight.
She has also appeared in other popular TV shows such as The West Wing, Ally McBeal, Scrubs and Beverly Hills, 90210. His films include Fools in a Hurry, The Nine Yards, Almost Heroes and Three to Tango.
Perry’s fans and friends took to social media to express their shock and sadness at her death. His former colleagues also paid tribute, remembering him as a talented and funny actor and a loyal friend.
He was the heart and soul of Friends.
