Can you imagine how hard it is to lose a beloved dog due to unknown circumstances? All these amazing and endless questions come to mind as you try to figure out how to get him back. Our little furry friends are deeply saddened when they lose a family member. It’s almost always hard to understand why we’re stuck in the middle when we have nothing but the image of a once happy family. A week before Independence Day, July 4th, Nugget, a small puppy from Southern California, was abandoned on the streets because his family had abandoned him.

Despite being hopelessly abandoned by his loved ones, this little dog remained loyal to the corner where he last saw them, and one day everything changed for the better…

No matter what happened, he always backed into a corner.

Although he was new to the neighborhood, young Nugget always knew to return to the intersection where his family left him. Several times, selfless neighbors tried to help this little dog from the street, but he always found a way to escape.

But he always went back to the same corner and waited for the family to come and get him. Unfortunately, that never happened.

Fear and loneliness, looking for food and shelter.

It was the 4th of July when the fireworks started and little Nugget got scared and ran away, but when everything quieted down he went back to where he started. Still, he seemed to accept the fact that his family wouldn’t be coming back.

Gradually, he began to understand that everyone around him was trying to help him, not harm him. One day he was standing at the door of the woman he had just tried to help and appeared to be begging for food.

The woman, who was a cat owner, fed him, but the dog still refused to enter her home. She then called Suzette Hall, her friend, and the founder of Logan’s Legacy, from Irvine, California.

“He had to endure fireworks and people chasing him. He was so smart though, he knew where to go for food,” says Suzette.

Suzette Hall Knew What Had To Be Done

As soon as she drove herself to the spot, she saw Nugget on the very same spot where he was left. She set up a humane trap and lured him in with some delicious snacks, which worked perfectly!

After only a few minutes, Nugget was in a box in Hall’s van and they were on their way to Camino Pet Hospital.

The little dog was wary at first, but he soon relaxed when he realized that Hall and everybody in the hospital were actually friends.

“Thankfully, we were able to get a trap out there. And, we finally got him safe. Tiny and scared, but he is rescued,” Suzette wrote on her Facebook.

He was thoroughly checked out, and now he’s waiting for the pawfect owner around his caregivers. We can’t wait to see this South Californian beauty transform in a new home next to the family who will truly appreciate his resilient and cute nature!
