Sometimes all you need is a little faith.

Lady Bird, a senior black lab, didn’t lose hope, even when she was in a bathroom in a park in Destrehan, Louisiana. The owner, who was struggling at the time, temporarily left her there with a heartbreaking note.

It didn’t take long for a friendly rescuer to find this adorable dog girl, but what she got that day was more than a rescue. This is his story!

Ladybug’s story

The reason why Lady Bird ended up in a public toilet was heartbreaking. They had nine wonderful years together, traveling the country and being inseparable since she was six weeks old.

Tired of their travels, the two returned home to North Carolina. They plan to spend time there with their family and then embark on a new journey together. But this time, things go wrong when Ladybird’s owner becomes homeless in Louisiana.

She lives in a shelter and is trying to save as much money as possible so she can return to North Carolina with her dogs. Since the two were stranded without a car or tent, they decided to leave Lady Bird in the bathroom overnight.

She left a note saying she would be back in the morning and asked Ladybug’s girlfriend to do her a favor. He even left water for the dog if he needed it.

the way home

The next morning, the owner came to where he had left the dog, but the owner was not there. She immediately contacted animal control, who said Ladybug was taken to the St. Charles.

These friendly rescuers heard the story of Ladybug and her owner and decided to help. Although their circumstances were unique, the team was eager to help this dedicated duo, who have supported each other for many years.

They contacted the Virginia Beach SPCA and took Ladybird there. This amazing team took our dog and made sure he had a nice bath and a relaxing day at the local spa.

When he finished his treatment, the team rewarded him with a delicious pupacino for his very good results. Once Ladybird’s story became public, animal groups decided to step in and help her return home safely.

They saved for a flight home and provided Ladybird with medical care and pet supplies. Finally, this sweet girl made it home to her parents in North Carolina and had a wonderful reunion with her grandmother.

The two are ready to meet again after a long time. Her owner later contacted her dog rescue to report her and Ladybird’s condition.

“Ladybird is doing wonderfully with her family in North Carolina! We had quite a few questions about her human in Louisiana, and we want everyone to know that he is doing well and is so happy that Ladybird is home,” the VBSPCA team wrote on Facebook.

After all the hardship the two had been through, they were finally able to get back to their normal life – all thanks to a group of giant-hearted people driven by nothing but pure love for animals!
