Thousands of dogs escape every day, but getting them where they belong is sometimes a real miracle!

Bosco, a fourth grade beagle from Westerly, Rhode Island, has always been an adventurous dog. One day he got rid of his collar, went off to explore on his own and disappeared. Years passed and Bosco’s owner, Bill, never thought he would meet his furry companion again. But then something amazing happened…

Bosco disappeared when he was 9 years old.

When Bill realized his dog wasn’t coming home, he did everything he could to find it. Although the veteran had a crippled back and difficulty walking, Bill still had hundreds of questions about his friend.

Dozens of Bosco posters went missing in Westerly, Rhode Island, but alas, there was no sign of him. After months of searching, Bill finally gave up because he thought he would never see his dog again. He moved to Lafayette, Colorado to start a new chapter in his life. And yet he never forgot or thought of his companion…

The people of Rhode Island noticed.

It has been more than 700 days since Bosco went missing, and some residents have seen the dog and recognized him from the posters. It seems he’s been living on the streets all this time, but can’t find his way back home. When they found him, he was scared and afraid of people. Local residents contacted Sheila Graham, who sometimes volunteers as a pet detective and helps people find their pets. He immediately called Bill and told him the good news. Bosco was so hard to catch, so Bill helped Sheila get information about his favorite food and she managed to catch him.

Bosco’s discovery itself was not a miracle, but what happened soon after? When Sheila learns that Bosco is too old to fly and his disability makes it impossible for him to travel, she decides to step in!

He voluntarily drove his car for 30 hours to deliver Bosco to his father! He drove over 2,000 miles and endured two snow storms, but it was worth it.

When asked about this journey on Facebook, she replied that she’d do it all over again. Just seeing the two reuniting again was enough for her to consider the trip successful.  “That’s the reward. That makes the 36 hours in a car worth it.”

Bosco Remembered His Long-Lost Owner

When he first got home, Bosco was shy and confused. But, then his dad called out, “Dude!”, and the dog realized he was finally where he’s supposed to be!

He surrendered himself into Bill’s arms and from that moment on – nothing mattered anymore! Bosco finally made it to his furever home and reunited with his family. This story soon went viral and touched the hearts of millions all over the world…
