When innocent Petey named Nirvana was abandoned in a vacant lot near a car wash, her family left her with only a blanket and food. Unbeknownst to them, the faithful Nirvana had him crouched on the sidewalk with his belongings, patiently awaiting their return.
But his family never came back.

When employees at a nearby car wash saw Nirvana sleeping on the sidewalk and realized she was out of food, they knew she needed help.
Because of his unfortunate condition, they gave him a new can of food, hoping the dog would eat it. They then contacted Suzette Hall, founder of the Logan’s Legacy dog shelter in Irvine, California, to help save the poor pup.

Nirvana ate all the food left for him, but spent the rest of his time sleeping in the wilderness. After waiting two days, Hall came to rescue the exhausted dog. Despite her exhaustion, Nirvana gathers her strength to greet her savior with a glimmer of hope and acceptance. His tail and bright eyes speak of the strong bond between man and loyal companion.

Hall approached Nirvana cautiously, sensing the delicate state of the dog’s senses.
With gentle movements and a gentle voice, he assured Nirvana that he was ready to help and provide care and compassion. Hall left the grateful dog on a leash.
The puppy was so sleepy that he barely answered Suzette! His exhaustion was obvious, but he knew he would be rescued eventually. Hall took her to the vet where Nirvana got a much needed bath that seemed to wash away any sadness attached to her!

Nirvana arrived at the animal hospital and captured the hearts of the veterinarians.
Recognizing her loving nature and unruly spirit, they gave her a kennel and began the healing process. Within days, Nirvana was in a loving orphanage where she could put her tragic past behind her.
Loved by his foster mother and passionate about outdoor adventures, Petey has discovered a new opportunity in life – a life full of joy and a wagging tail!
His playful and grateful personality reminds us of dogs’ ability to bounce back from abandonment and show unconditional love to those they care about!
