Abandonment is one of the most difficult things for dogs, as most of them can’t even grasp the mere idea that their former owner no longer wants them.
So, they simply stop doing anything and just wait, hoping that someone would come back for them, but it never happens. It’s cruel and unforgiving, and unfortunately, it happens a lot.
In this story, we will talk about an abandoned dog who just wanted to find her family, but was given a new chance when she met some wonderful people.
A Sweet And Gentle Dog
When Hope For Paws received a call about an abandoned Chihuahua in suburban California, Loreta Franconite answered the phone and went to help.
The dog was found outside someone’s home and appeared to be just waiting for someone to rescue him. Her rescuers wanted to be careful and move slowly in case she got nervous, but they also didn’t have all the rescue equipment.
They had to somehow improvise, but the owner of the house came and decided to help them. The poor dog ran out onto the balcony and waited. Loreta was able to get to her and take her inside the house. Now that he was inside her, she felt much more comfortable. She was so scared of everyone that all they had to do was make her relax a little. They gave him food to show her goodwill and that helped a little.
Sunny’s incredible new adventure
They managed to get her on a leash and put her in a small kennel. Now we will take her to a veterinary clinic in California to have her checked out.
I was still a little worried, but I took a warm bath and felt completely relaxed.
She seemed happy to finally be living in a safe family environment with people who truly cared about her.
Los Angeles Animal Rescue contacted us and offered to take care of this adorable Chihuahua and hopefully find a new home.
After spending time with them, some wonderful people came along and adopted this dog, now named Sunny, and gave her a new life.
They really enjoy spending time with her and have bought her lots of new toys to play with all the time.
Even though she was abandoned and left to fend for herself on the streets, the amazing rescue workers at Hope for Paws gave her the chance to live with the most amazing family in the world.
