It’s no fun rescuing a scared stray dog who has no positive experience with humans. But once you earn their trust and show them what a loving relationship is like, there are no words left to describe that feeling of joy. Serena and Jen notice Dobby coming to help and immediately stop. At the time, Dobby the puppy was very unkempt and had no fur at all. They knew they had to help, but the rescue mission was far from easy.
Learn to trust again
When Serena and Jen first saw Dobby, he was wandering the streets looking for food. As they approached, he fled to a construction site, where he tried to hide from potential danger. Due to his extremely shy personality, Dobby has had some bad experiences interacting with people. So when longtime animal rights activists tried to get to him, he ran away as quickly as possible. The next day, Serena and Jen arrive at the scene again. This time I had a plan.
For about four hours, they tried to lure Dobby out of a small tunnel where he was hiding. They offered him food, and waited, but he was still so scared.
“It was very stressful, he fought so hard to get away from us, not knowing who he could trust in this world,” Jen wrote on Instagram.
He would come out just for a second to grab some food, and then he’d immediately go back in. Then, the rescuers resorted to plan B. They contacted a professional dog catcher who caught him in a net within minutes, and then put him in a crate.
For the first few minutes, Dobby was frantically trying to escape, but after some time, he calmed down. Jen and Selina took him to the vet, where he got therapy for his skin condition, and the rest, as they say, is history!
Amazing Transformation
It only took Jen a few seconds to realize that Dobby was meant to be her dog. As soon as her veterinarian appointment was over, she adopted him and made him part of her family.
During her first three weeks, Dobby made no attempt to communicate with her new owner. He was still very shy and scared of everyone, so he spent most of the day hiding under a box.
Jen waited patiently for him to finally come out of his shell. And now he has it happen 21 days later.
He slowly begins to come out of his shell and finds his new home to be a safe place. Little by little, Dobby completely transformed and became inseparably cute.
“I couldn’t touch him for 21 days. It was a very slow process. Sometimes I never thought we’d get there. But we did and I am so thankful every day that we stopped to save him. He’s an absolute joy, and such a bundle of love,” Jen wrote.
He finally started bonding with his new mother and new dog siblings.
It turns out that what he really needed was someone’s gentle touch that would give him enough time to adapt to his new surroundings. And after weeks of trying to overcome this obstacle, Dobby achieved even more.
He finally has a loving home and someone to help him regain his trust in others. After all the trials he has overcome, Dobby is now a brand new boy, ready to spread his legs wide and embrace his new life.
