Despite the grim diagnosis, Elder was determined to provide DeVito with the best care possible. She committed to spending $3,500 on medications to ensure that DeVito’s remaining time would be as comfortable and fulfilling as possible. Although this expenditure was beyond their budget, Elder’s dedication to DeVito’s well-being was unwavering.
