Law enforcement personnel have experienced difficult times in recent years, and the situation is only getting worse. Numerous police officers have been targeted for attacks, and some people have the misconception that all police are dishonest or corrupt in some way. In Gallipolis, Ohio, a restaurant made the decision to show the men and women in uniform that they are valued and appreciated. To unequivocally demonstrate to all the people in uniform that the city fully appreciates what they do each and every day, each time they put their own safety at risk to keep the rest of us safe, the sign in the window is creating quite a stir.

There is no better way to refuel before, during, or after a long day than with a delicious hot meal. Who knows, it might even make the streets even safer!

Things have been crazy ever since the sign was pinned to the KFC window; it has gone completely viral, receiving well over 5,000 shares and 10,000 likes on Facebook. Even the employees of the store have commented on the Facebook post to say that they do serve all uniformed police officers absolutely FREE throughout the day, every day!

The majority of people—especially the police officers and their families—might be supportive and overjoyed about it, but there are also lots of people who are not at all happy about it.

Some people didn’t like what the store owners had done and stated that they thought all first response services, not just the police, should be included. Even the administrator of Ohio Going Blue, an officer of the law, said he couldn’t agree more. He uttered:.

“This is a good post, but some of you don’t understand the bigger picture. As a police officer, I never enter a place anticipating or wanting anything free or…. I don’t care if I’m in uniform or not; I’ll take anything, even a discount, and I know other officers feel the same way. We dislike “special treatment.”. The posting of this is due to the fact that KFC is acknowledging law enforcement. To those who said that additional first responders ought to be recognized. Absolutely, I would respond. “.

The message on the sign is crystal clear:.

“All police officers in uniform receive free meals every day. It is reasonable to provide law enforcement with a free meal to keep them fueled for their long shifts because they put their lives on the line every day while doing their best to keep us safe. Do you support the KFC sign in the window? If so, why?
