Early on, and with good reason, we are taught to respect and honor our military personnel. After all, it is the serving men and women who make such enormous sacrifices to protect our freedom. I understand this as an adult, and I support our military whenever I have the chance.

Having said that, I did occasionally find it difficult to understand the concept when I was younger. I was aware of the military’s heroic efforts to protect us, but I was ignorant of the importance of appreciation in general.

Jace Vega, 6, says it with great emphasis. A picture of the first-grader who was observed saluting military personnel at the San Antonio International Airport has since gone viral.

On Sunday, Fox San Antonio posted more about Jace on its Facebook page. Jace’s picture had about 3,000 likes and 1,900 shares as of this writing.

Jace replied, “Because they fight for our country,” when asked why he had given the salute. “.

Ace’s father had just returned from a vacation in Colorado Springs, and the family was waiting for him at the airport. When the first grader saw the military personnel, he decided on his own to salute them.

Joe Vega asked his son, “Why don’t you tell them [the station] what you told me that maybe you want to be a soldier someday, right?

Joe expressed his pride in his young son and said that the salute might have helped him in the future by opening doors.

He said, “A few companies have gotten in touch with us, and some other folks have just gotten in touch with my wife.”. In a Florida airport, his picture will be on display. He will work with a few seasoned neighborhood businesses that design shirts and are locally owned and operated to produce a small number of shirts. “.

Jace, we should salute you for your patriotic outlook and commitment to helping those in need.

If you think that young Jace needs some support, please spread the word about this.
