A Walmart customer recently had a close encounter with a customer who needed to understand the express line rules, according to a recently published story.
The woman was patiently informed by the cashier that customers with ten or fewer items should use the 10-item line. She held up both hands to emphasize her point and pointed to the sign above the lane that read “Ten Items or Less” in both English and Spanish.
The customer was surprised by this rule and seemed to have forgotten that she had an overflowing basket full of items that she had attempted to smuggle through the limited-item checkout lane.
The cashier kept her cool under pressure and politely informed the customer of the limitations. The customer’s experience at Walmart was excellent.
The clerk responded to my request with an entertainingly original idea, and I couldn’t help but laugh with delight.
Knowing that she had put forth such effort, I quickly paid for my purchases and generously gave her a twenty-dollar bill as a tip. It was enjoyable to witness such top-notch improvised humor in person since I hadn’t seen anything like it in a while.
