Most of us face situations in life where we have to choose to help a hungry animal, be it a dog or a cat.
In most of these situations, most people choose to ignore it because it’s easier to hope that someone else will intervene than to do it themselves. But we shouldn’t think like that. If you can help even in a small way, think about it because you are making a big difference to the animals you are helping. In this story we will talk about a hungry dog who is desperately waiting for someone to come and do the same to him. Fortunately, his patience paid off.

In late August 2022, Donna Lohmann, who works at Stray Rescue in St. Louis, received a call about a dog sleeping outside in the summer heat.
The caller sent a photo of the dog to see how they could help. Donna Lohmann, chief rescue officer at Stray Rescue in St. Louis, told The Dodo: The photo this person sent us shows the dog lying down. It’s hard to tell, but I felt like my hip bones were visible. So I knew it was definitely worth checking out.
He came quickly, but the puppy had disappeared and he could not find it. He looked around and found her.

The dog was probably trying to cool off by entering the water. He reached her and realized that she really needed help.
“I guess he heard me when I stopped at the end of the alley,” Roman said. I saw him raise his head, look around a bit, and then lower his head back to the road as if he had given up completely.
Cute puppy saved at last
He was heartbroken when he saw the dog and decided he couldn’t leave him alone. When approached, the puppy was very welcoming and fearless. He got into her car and helped her get settled. dog in the car
Roman continued, “There was a blanket on the back seat of the Jeep, so I laid right there. He seemed very grateful for the air conditioning and comfort of the place. The dog, now named Kerby, had a great time at the shelter. After a routine checkup, a kind family saw his footage and decided to help him by adopting him. He is having a great time with his new foster family and also has another brother that he likes to sleep with and play with.

The family is making sure he gets enough nutrition, which is evident in the fact that he has put on a lot of weight and is now transitioning to a normal diet. It’s unclear if Kerby is adopted or not, but given how playful and affectionate he is, there’s no doubt he’ll find a loving family to take him home for good.
