Most people would be happy to help their neighbor jump start their car or give their neighbor a cup of sugar, but this kind man went above and beyond for his elderly friend.

Chris Salvatore, a musician, actor, model, and supporter of LGBT rights, shared an apartment with Norma across the hall. Every time he went by, she would wave to him.

Chris found out that Norma lived alone with her cat and decided to keep her company. Chris Salvatore eventually developed a close relationship with his 89-year-old neighbor. Long conversations took place, and they even celebrated each other’s birthdays together.

The doctors said that when Norma found out she had leukemia, she had no family to turn to. Chris then made the decision to step in and help her in any way he could.

Because of her condition, Norma needed all the help she could get, but consulting a professional to provide that care would cost money that neither Norma nor Chris had. The two of them went on social media in an effort to raise the funds necessary for Norma’s care.

With the help of donors from across the nation, Chris and Norma were able to raise tens of thousands of dollars. Neither of them, however, ever allowed money to be a factor. Chris said, “She’s my family.”. I mentioned that she was my grandmother.

After the contribution funds ran out, Chris and Norma decided to share a room. Because of Chris’s good nature, Norma would never be alone again, but this connection benefited everyone. She has greatly aided me, as much as I am assisting her here, Chris remarked. “.
