As he continues to receive medical care for ongoing health issues, Al Roker updates his followers on his situation.
On Thursday morning, the 68-year-old Today show weatherman announced to his followers that he was hoping to leave the hospital soon by posting a photo of the dawn over the city.
When your spirit wanes a little, you get to see that and refuel, he wrote in the Instagram caption for the picture. Thank you so much for thinking of my family and me and praying for us; God bless you all.
In the hopes that Roker would recover fully and quickly, many people left him supportive messages.
Roker posted on social media a week after expressing gratitude while hospitalised on the Today show.
The seasoned TV personality’s most recent appearance was on the Nov. many weeks ago, on the four broadcasts. He was initially admitted to the hospital to treat blood clots in his leg and lungs. He was later released, and the day after Thanksgiving, he was readmitted again.
Roker missed the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, his first in 27 years, and the customary Christmas Tree Lighting at Rockefeller Center.
Hoda Kotb, co-anchor of Today, said last week about the holiday lighting: “We certainly wish that Al could have been among us, but due to some issues, he is back in the hospital, and he’s in excellent care. His doctors are carefully watching him while he sleeps.
She continued, “Craig Melvin and I FaceTimed Al Roker from the tree lighting, and Al and his family want everyone to know how grateful they are for all the love, support, and well wishes. It was great seeing Al again; he gave us the thumbs up.
Roker returned to the hospital via ambulance just one day after being discharged.
After Thanksgiving, a source told PEOPLE that Al was quickly transported to the hospital and that his wife, Deborah Roberts, was “locked out of her car and couldn’t get inside it” at the time.
“The car broke down,” said the insider. Her phone was among the items she was unable to reclaim.
Leila Roker, 24, Roker’s daughter, expressed gratitude to her supporters for their excellent wishes following her father’s readmission to the hospital due to medical issues.
She shared a selfie and the words “Thank you to all the great friends and family who have reached out” on her Instagram Story. We are very appreciative.
