Beyonce’s personal chef opens the door to her dressing room deliveries, revealing the secret ingredients that go into the world’s best performers’ performances.

The last image that comes to mind when thinking of Beyonce’s current Renaissance World Tour is Queen B munching on wasabi, white chocolate, and black sesame cookies in her dressing room.

The New York Times was given a behind-the-scenes look by Mr. Bird, a renowned English pastry chef who was one of Beyoncé’s three personal chefs and part of a 14-person kitchen staff. The thought is plausible given Queen B’s fondness for the delicious backstage cookies he regularly brings to her dressing room.

And it seems that Queen B isn’t the only famous person who constantly has a culinary entourage with them. Carrie Underwood, Justin Bieber, and Motley Crue are just a few of the famous people that Bird, known for his lunch and dinner cookies, has served.

Professional chefs, whether knowledgeable about vegan cuisine or capable of managing a full-fledged mobile kitchen, are becoming more and more common among touring musicians. Remember that even a single case of food poisoning can put millions-dollar shows in danger.

There is more focus on health and wellness on tour in the post-Covid era. The New York Times reports that a lunch menu with a juicing station stocked with a colorful assortment of veggies ready for blending was offered at a recent Lizzo concert in Palm Desert, California. In addition, there were Impossible sliders, couscous, squash, carrots, and cookies. Fried chicken sandwiches were also available.

The life of a traveling chef is far from glamorous, despite the fact that taking private jets or driving in armored cars with international music stars may sound glamorous. They spend months at a time sleeping on tour buses and are constantly on the go.

They are responsible for feeding the entire cast, which also includes the backup singers, dancers, stage builders, pyrotechnics crew, security personnel, managers, and bus drivers. A typical day’s work includes serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a post-concert meal, frequently on a moving bus.

They have a distinct perspective on the stars and their peculiar behaviors, which is one positive. Blackpink brought a separate truck just for instant ramen noodles, according to Chef Bird, who catered for the K-pop sensation in Chicago last summer.

Bird didn’t say much, but he did mention that Beyonce is a big fan of his Reece cup cookies, which are vanilla-based treats with Belgian chocolate and bits of Reese’s peanut butter cups scattered throughout.
