Not all heroes wear capes…that’s for sure! Some people laugh, like Harley!
This Goldendool hero from Virginia made headlines around the world and stepped in when help was needed!
The six-year-old dog was found 200 meters out to sea by his owner, Ralph Dorn, in the most selfless pursuit of the unknown animal.
As he got a little closer, Ralph realized that Harley wasn’t just swimming, she was on a rescue mission!
Harley took immediate action.

Virginia resident Ralph Dorn knew that Goldendoodle Harley was no ordinary dog. He was always a good boy, very intuitive and incredibly intelligent.
However, Harley gives her friend another shock when she springs into action to save the child from drowning. “Harley saw the deer in the water and took immediate action,” says Ralph.
As soon as I saw the fawn desperately trying to get out of the water, I took action! Without thinking about it or asking why, he just started swimming towards the baby 200 meters from shore.

Helping a deer that was only a few days old was not fun! Harley had to carry him to shore because the kid was uncoordinated and didn’t know how to get to him. But Harley swam like a pro and got her new friend to shore!
“Every time the duck tried to turn, Harley would pull it back toward shore, and the duck would get closer and closer,” says Ralph. Photo of Harley the dog and the baby in the water
One thing is certain. If it wasn’t for Harley, the kid wouldn’t have survived! Luckily, this Goldeneye brought the chicks to shore and started licking and grooming them once they were out of the water.

He wanted to make sure the baby was safe and he didn’t want to let him go!
However, a few minutes after she was rescued, the mother deer appeared on the lawn. As soon as Ralph saw her, he and Harley entered the house to make sure the child and mother were peacefully reunited.
A beautiful friendship was built

Ralph thought so, but the next morning Harley surprised him even more! He was having coffee with his wife, Patricia, when Golden Boy approached them and started running from window to window. She clearly wanted out, but Ralph didn’t know why. He opened the front door, brought Harley out, and saw the most amazing thing of all!

Harley heard a small deer roar nearby. It was the same deer he had rescued from the lake the day before! He rushed to the boy and as soon as they were together the deer’s barking stopped. The two shared cute moments, bumping into each other and wagging their tails. That was! After a brief encounter, Harley returned home very happy to see her little friend!
Harley’s intuition and special ability to help others is truly amazing! Before her heroic rescue, she worked as a certified therapy dog, helping the elderly and children in the community!
He was always the perfect boy, ready to step up and help others when needed. He is. This is an amazing Goldendoodle!
