When Jammy, a tiny and adorable puppy, arrived at Marin Humane in Novato, California, he instantly captured hearts with his irresistible smile and sweet personality. However, Jammy had a bit more to him than meets the eye—he was quite chubby and had some health issues that needed addressing.
Jammy’s Journey
Jammy weighed in at 17.6 pounds, whereas his ideal weight was around ten pounds. This made movement a bit difficult for him, and he loved being carried around. To make matters more challenging, Jammy had 13 bladder stones that needed to be removed urgently. But despite these hurdles, Jammy’s spirit remained undampened.
The Charming Pup
Despite his health issues, Jammy’s charm shone through. “Jammy is a charming, funny little dude. He’s friendly and easy-going, and he’s been social with everyone he’s met,” said Julia Lamont, social media and marketing specialist at Marin Humane. Jammy even had some quirky habits, like playing with a cat wand toy, and he handled all the medical procedures like a superstar.
Recovery and a New Hope
After surgery to remove the bladder stones, Jammy was placed in a loving foster home where he made a swift recovery. The nurturing environment helped him begin shedding the extra weight, and he was soon back at the shelter, eagerly looking for a forever home.
What Jammy Needs
Jammy dreams of an active family that will help him stay healthy and happy. He’s an expert snuggler who enjoys sunny walks and has a vocal personality, especially at mealtimes. Having lived alongside other animals, he would thrive with a furry sibling to share fun and adventures.
