A couple was walking along a canal in Price, Utah, when they heard strange noises coming from the water.

As he approached, he saw something furry moving at the edge of the canal. They were shocked when they realized what they were seeing.

dog if needed

A helpless little dog fell into a canal and tried to get out. Aran was surrounded by fences and barbed wire, so the couple were unable to approach the dog alone. But they couldn’t leave him alone.

They immediately called the local police and told them they needed someone’s help.

Captain Brandon Ratcliffe was en route when he received a call and was told the situation. When the captain got there, the dog Chika was barking and panting and trying to hold on to the leash as best he could.

“The sounds she was making [were] like she was having trouble breathing or had water in her lungs. Nonetheless, I climbed the fence and jumped over the barbed wire while Officer Tapia was able to unlock the gate further down the canal on the other side. Just in case she slipped away, Officer Tapia would have been in position to grab her”, said Captain Brandon.

Fortunately, Captain Brandon was able to immediately grab Chica and bring her to safety.

He was so relieved to be saved that I didn’t want to put him down. Chika wanted to be hugged by her rescuer.

new friend

At first, Captain Brandon enlists Chica’s help to take care of her. But he changed his mind. He decided to take her home and let her do some cleaning.

After waiting for a while, he took Chica to the Price City Police Station and introduced her to the officers and staff. He was so cute that Chika quickly became friends with everyone. He was very happy and grateful to be saved by such wonderful people. After the fun at the station, Chica was taken to the vet where they discovered she had been microchipped.

It is said that when her mother was found, she was worried about Chikai’s welfare and had been looking for her since morning. She was very grateful to Captain Brandon for saving her young daughter.

The owner offered to give money to anyone who saw Chika, but I told him I just wanted to make sure everyone was okay.

the last word

We are very grateful to Captain Brandon for his willingness to help anyone in need.

And Chica, your willingness to come home reminded me that persistence is key. Good boy, chica!
