After learning of Kirstie Alley’s unexpected passing from cancer at the age of 71, Denise Richards thought back on her. The RHOBH alum shared her ideas on Instagram on December 6th.
She continued, “Kirstie is one of the funniest, sweetest, and strongest women I’ve ever encountered.” I feel tremendously fortunate and appreciative that I was able to work on a movie with my mother.
“I was a little apprehensive about dealing with her, but she immediately put me at ease. She cherished animals fervently and had a bright heart. Everywhere she went, her contagious laugh brought joy and brightness. Kirstie, you are loved by so many people and you will be sorely missed. Good luck to your children and grandchildren.
Denise made this discovery after working with Kirstie in the 1999 film Drop Dead Gorgeous. A contestant in a pageant and the daughter of Kirstie’s Gladys Leeman character, Denise played Rebecca Ann “Becky” Leeman.
The pageant winner Gladys was in charge of setting up the committee. The humorous piece is still one of Kirstie and Denise’s fans’ favourites.
One of the many complimentary remarks Kirstie’s other co-stars and friends had about her was Denise’s admiration. John Travolta, the model’s co-star in the Look What’s Talking films, quickly posted cherished images of her on Instagram along with a moving message.
“My connection with Kirstie was one of the strangest I’ve ever had. Kirstie, you inspire me. I’m confident we’ll cross paths once more,” he wrote.
Jamie Lee Curtis, Kelsey Grammer, Valerie Bertinelli, Tim Allen, and more stars expressed their sorrow and affection for Kirstie. “I recently learned the tragic news of Kirstie Alley’s passing.”
She was a wonderful real-life mother bear, according to Jamie, and a fantastic comedy foil in “@tvscreamqueens.” She aided me in purchasing Christmas onesie presents for my family. We respected and related to one another notwithstanding our agreement to disagree on a few issues.
In Scream Queens, Abigail Breslin co-starred alongside Kirstie, and she posted an Instagram homage. Rest in peace, @kirstiealley; you were a wonderful person.
“I’m delighted I got to work with you on Scream Queens season 2; it was hilarious when you put your name into my phone. I wish you were doing better right now.
A picture of Kirstie’s phone number and the words “Love to Kirsties families and friends” were also included. Xx.”
On December 5, Kirstie’s son William and daughter Lillie informed her followers via a message on her official Twitter account that she had passed away. To each and every one of our friends, near and far, in every region of the world.
“We regret to inform you that your mother, who was just diagnosed with cancer and was wonderful, brave, and loved, lost her fight. The fortitude with which she fought when surrounded by her closest family members leaves us with little doubt about her unwavering love of life and whatever adventures lay ahead. She was a well-known actress in addition to being a fantastic mother and grandma.
