Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, one of the most well-known figures in Hollywood, is a devoted husband and the father of two of the cutest girls. He is also one of the highest paid actors in the business. But the 49-year-old’s life wasn’t always straightforward, particularly when he was a teenager and briefly became homeless.
The former wrestler and now-actor recently opened up about a trying time in his teens, when his family lost their home in Hawaii because his mother couldn’t afford the rent. His mother is left with no choice but to send her son away to Nashville, Tennessee, where Johnson, who was 15 at the time, believed he would be moving in with his father.

But when he arrived in Nashville, a stranger met him at the airport rather than his father, and he soon realized that he wasn’t really going to live with his dad. As opposed to that, he met a man by the name of Bruno Lauer who drove him to his trailer and provided him with a roof over his head when he had nowhere else to go. Johnson’s major life turning point could have easily led him down the wrong path, but the cool-headed star claims that God “always found a way to put a few people in my path that would change the trajectory of the road I was going down.”. The punk kid was taken in by him, and Dwayne Johnson says they became lifelong friends.
Former wrestling manager Lauer helped Johnson not only when he was in his teens but also when he was trying to make it as a wrestler. Johnson says he will never forget how Lauer gave him a place to stay and even his last $40 to help him buy his first car.
Instagram More than three decades have passed since Johnson made the decision to repay the man who saved him all those years ago. In a special gesture, he gave his friend “Downtown Bruno” a brand-new truck as appreciation for all of his support. Johnson invited Lauer to the set of his comedy TV show called “Young Rock,” which is based on his life. He then presented the unique gift as a surprise to his longtime friend.
Regarding Lauer’s beneficial influence, he says, “Your kindness and heart helped change the course of my life.”.
Nobody has ever done anything like this for me before, says Instagram Bruno, who was speechless at the generous act and fighting back tears. The Rock explains that he has already taken care of the tags and will have the new car shipped to Lauer’s house in Walls, Mississippi. “Man, I love you. Not because of this, says Lauer, referring to the truck Johnson gave away, but because of who you are. I thank the Lord Jesus for bringing you into my life. ”.
