Kota Bean, a spirited yellow Labrador Retriever, gained notoriety within her family for her remarkable ability to escape confinement. Despite numerous attempts to contain her, including electric fences and crates, Kota proved herself to be a master of evasion.
A Desperate Search
However, Kota’s latest breakout took a troubling turn when she disappeared without a trace, leaving her family frantic with worry. Despite their efforts to locate her, including distributing flyers and reaching out to local shelters, a year passed with no sign of Kota.
A Glimmer of Hope
Just when they began to lose hope, a familiar face appeared on the Bibb County Animal Shelter’s website – it was Kota. With renewed determination, Kota’s owner, Kellie, enlisted the help of a friend to track her movements.
A Rescue Mission
Despite their best efforts, Kota remained elusive, hiding her latest litter of puppies. With the help of a dedicated rescuer, Lisa, and a team of volunteers, they managed to locate Kota’s puppies trapped in a drain pipe.
A Reunion
After hours of effort, Kota’s puppies were safely rescued, but Kota herself remained wary. It wasn’t until the next night that she was finally coaxed into joining her family, bringing their harrowing ordeal to an end.
Adjusting to New Beginnings
Back home, Kota and her puppies settled in, though Kota herself needed time to readjust. Traumatized by her experiences, she remained cautious, but her family was patient, allowing her to heal at her own pace.

Despite the challenges, Kota’s family was overjoyed to have her and her puppies back home where they belonged. With time and love, they hoped Kota would once again find comfort and security in her warm and loving home.
