Ellen Pompeo will leave Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital after a lengthy hospitalisation. The long-running Grey’s Anatomy star, who has led the show for the past 19 seasons, announced her retirement in a touching message to the show’s ardent fans.

Pompeo addressed a statement to the audience and uploaded it on Instagram yesterday, thanking them for their continued support and assuring them that she would not leave Grey’s Anatomy forever.

“I’ll be eternally thankful to each and every one of you for the love and support you’ve offered Meredith Grey and the programme over the course of 19 seasons!”

“None of this would have been possible at any point in time without the most incredible fans on the entire planet.
You’ve all contributed to making this experience enjoyable and memorable!” Pompeo wrote something in the message.

“I am eternally grateful for you, and I love you with all my heart,” she said. ” You’ve been on the roller coaster before. With profound affection and an eternal sense of thanks, XoE.”

As initially reported in August, Pompeo, who has been a Grey’s Anatomy star since the show’s first season, will spend less time on the show to focus on other projects.

Meredith from Grey’s Anatomy will relocate to Boston as Ellen Pompeo prepares to star in the upcoming Hulu drama Orphan.
Pompeo will have more free time in her personal life as a result.

On February 23, 2023, she will make her final appearance on the show.

In the days leading to the series, her former co-star Patrick Dempsey poked fun at the concept that Ellen Pompeo will never forget her experience in the medical drama because of the collection of props she accumulated throughout her work there.

Patrick Dempsey, who left Grey’s Anatomy in 2015, appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on November 17 to discuss his experience as Dr McDreamy and some of the benefits of being on the show (including enough Band-Aids to last a lifetime).
She took the decision to withdraw from the programme. General Martin Dempsey responded to Jimmy Kimmel’s Phyllis Pompeo joke by asking, “Did she really? I’m not sure whether you heard, but she was caught stealing Band-Aids off the set.”

“Can you imagine what she’d have in her house today after 19 seasons?” he asked. A full-service medical centre.”

It appears to be highly advantageous!

Grey’s Anatomy will return to ABC on February 23, 2023, with Ellen Pompeo’s final episode of the medical drama.
