The dedicated team at Special Needs Animal Rescue & Rehabilitation Northeast (SNARR) in Brewster, New York, believed they had seen it all after 13 years of saving animals. However, a recent phone call revealed a shocking case of cruelty that reminded them there are always new surprises in their line of work.
Rescue Mission
The call came from a concerned witness who had just seen a man throw two Labrador Retriever-mix puppies from a moving car into a stream. One puppy managed to crawl out, but his sibling struggled to keep his head above water. The caller, not waiting for rescuers to arrive, bravely waded into the stream and pulled the puppies to safety.
Immediate Response
The SNARR team quickly arrived at the scene, carefully placing the puppies into their car and rushing them to their New York headquarters. The puppies were in complete shock, unable to comprehend what had just happened. A medical examination confirmed that the Good Samaritan’s swift action had saved their lives just in time.
Recovery Journey
The puppies, later named Tucker and Charlotte, were in serious condition. They had water in their lungs, road rash on their bodies, and parasites in their bellies.
