The Law and Order actress Mariska Hargitay, who suffered back-to-back injuries, was left with only one shoe to complete her outfits for months, but she is now finally recovering. After a star-studded screening of Marvel’s Black Widow in 2021, the actor broke her knee and also injured her ankle when she fell on a slick rainy street.

When the 1966 Buick Electra rear-ended a tractor-trailer on June 29, 1967, Hargitay and her two brothers were asleep in the back seat. Her mother and the other two passengers in the front died instantly. “I think I learned about crisis when I was very young, and I learned very young that s— happens and there are no guarantees, and we keep going. The Law & Order franchise, which is second only to The Simpsons in terms of the longest-running primetime TV series, is where the multi-award-winning actor is best known for her starring role as Detective Olivia Benson.
In 2021, the star, then 57, was recovering from a broken knee and a hairline fracture in her ankle from May, and had only recently removed her brace when she slipped at the Marvel event, that was attended by guests like Black Widow star David Harbor, Drew Barrymore, Gayle King, Ellen Pompeo, Zachary Quinto, Donna Karan, Bruce Weber, and Brooke Shields, who recovering from a broken femur, ran to help Hargitay outside the Regal UA East Hampton Cinema. According to a source who spoke to Page Six, Mariska “took a tumble as she hurried to leave the screening to greet guests at her home. She was taken to Southampton Hospital by ambulance with her husband Peter Hermann. She spent several hours there, and she left with a bandaged leg. After midnight, when the party had largely ended, she finally returned to her home. The Emmy-winning actress and Hermann, of Younger fame, were hosting an after-party at their 11-bedroom mansion in East Hampton, which is close to the residences of Jon Bon Jovi, Martha Stewart, and Candace Bergman.
The source further stated, “Mariska was amazing.
She was more concerned that everything had gone smoothly and that everyone had a good time at the party than she was about herself. ”.
On July 6, Hargitay posted a photo of her bandaged right ankle on Instagram, along with a photo of her left foot wearing a beige Birkenstock sandal with shearling trim. Her message read, “My summer look.”. Melissa McCarthy, who starred in Bridesmaids, took to the streets of Los Angeles with a sign that read, “Honk if you’re PRAYING for Mariska Hargitay’s recovery,” in response to her friend’s injury. She later posted the video of her soliciting honks on her Instagram page. “Believe it or not, she sent me a longer video that was pretty epic. I was totally impressed. In an interview, Hargitay said, “I couldn’t even speak when I saw it. McCarthy is the most fun and creative person I know. She’s simply brilliant. She was absolutely mind-blowing; it was crazy. She is pure magic, that one. But despite having a broken ankle, Hargitay refused to stay in bed. Just a few weeks later, she was back at work and could be seen using crutches on the Law & Order set.
