Rescued from Euthanasia
Major and his brother Hilo were saved from euthanasia by the Naperville Area Humane Society (NAHS). Despite facing the risk of being euthanized, Major maintained his friendly and sociable demeanor, endearing himself to the shelter staff and volunteers.

Despite Major’s wonderful qualities, including his friendly nature and good manners, he was repeatedly overlooked by potential adopters. The shelter staff couldn’t understand why Major hadn’t been adopted sooner, given his positive attributes and loving personality.

Major formed strong bonds with the volunteers and staff at the shelter, who affectionately described him as a “lovebug” and “the sweetest little boy.” Major’s loving nature and affectionate personality endeared him to everyone he met at the shelter.

After spending 372 days at the shelter, Major’s patience and resilience were finally rewarded when Jose, a semi-trailer truck driver, came to the shelter looking to adopt a dog. The bond between Major and Jose was immediate, and Major found his forever home with his new dad.
