Bob Saget, the comedian and Full House star who tragically passed away last January, would have celebrated his 67th birthday yesterday, and many of Saget’s friends and family paid tribute to him on this occasion. In a heartwarming tribute to the late comedian, his friend and Full House co-star John Stamos shared the advice he received from him when his son Billy was a baby.

2018 saw Stamos and his wife Caitlin McHugh give birth to a son they named Billy. Stamos admitted, however, that he didn’t feel “as close” to his child as he had anticipated in an interview with E! Online. As the late comedian had three daughters of his own, Stamos decided to ask his friend Bob Saget for some fatherly advice. Saget had some wise counsel.

He advised me to hold off until the first time he makes fun of me, Stamos recalled.

The actor told E! that Saget’s prediction came true and that he and his son, who is now five, are “best buddies. Bob Saget may not have been quite the wholesome and cheesy dad he portrayed on Full House, Danny Tanner, but he was full of fatherly wisdom nonetheless.

Stamos shared a vintage clip of the pair performing in a musical number about John Wilkes Booth and Abraham Lincoln in honor of his birthday. Stamos captioned the photo, “Happy birthday @bobsaget It still doesn’t seem real.”. “All day I was thinking about you and all the wonderful birthdays we celebrated together. Usually, I’ll throw you a colossal, pricey party and you’ll take me to The Smokehouse in the Valley. For your Abe Lincoln, I’ll be John Wilkes Booth at any time.

Saget’s Full House co-star Dave Coulier shared his own throwback photo. “Congratulations, Bob. I adore you,” Coulier wrote.

Kelly Rizzo, Saget’s widow, also paid tribute to her late husband in a moving speech. On Instagram, Rizzo wrote, “This truly never gets less weird or surreal.”. However, we are more grateful every day. I’ll never stop feeling like the luckiest person alive for getting to spend six years with this incredible man. She also discussed the ideal way to remember Saget on his birthday. “Tell everyone you love that you care about them on Bob’s birthday, preferably in a very long and detailed voice text that Siri dictates. ”.
