Following her death on the day of their wedding in late April, a devoted husband is now faced with the unfathomable task of organizing his wife’s funeral. According to reports, Samantha Leigh Miller and Aric Hutchinson wed on April 28 in a lovely ceremony. Samantha, 34, was killed by “a reckless drunk driver” who hit the golf cart she was riding in just hours after the couple made their eternal vows to one another.
Aric sustained numerous wounds but lived.
Aric has been released from the hospital and is attempting to cope with the loss of his wife, according to a GoFundMe page set up to raise money for the funeral of Samantha as well as medical costs for him and two other family members who were in the golf cart, Benjamin Garrett and Brogan Garrett.
According to sources, Aric and Samantha were leaving their wedding reception on Folly Beach, an island off the coast of South Carolina, when their golf cart was struck by Jamie Lee Komoroski, a 25-year-old who was operating a vehicle while intoxicated at 65 mph in a 25 mph zone.
“At the start of the golf cart ride, she said I wished this night could go on forever,” Samantha’s mother, Lisa Miller, recalled. Her most memorable night ever. She (Komoroski) literally ran into my daughter while traveling at 65 mph, Lisa continued.

She essentially just whammed my kid while Sammie and Aric were in the golf cart. Aric, who was traveling with Samantha in the back of the car, suffered serious wounds. The GoFundMe page was updated earlier this week, on May 8, describing the groom’s injuries, which included “multiple injuries including two broken legs, one of which had to be surgically repaired; broken bones in his face, which also had to be surgically repaired; broken vertebrae in his back; brain bleeds, and numerous cuts with stitches.”. According to the most recent reports, he has been released from the hospital and is now at home where he is “trying to come to terms with the loss of his beautiful wife. ”.
Now he is doing the unthinkable—planning Sam’s funeral with her family, according to his mother Annette. While a fourth passenger, Brogan, managed to escape with only minor injuries, Benjamin Garrett is recovering in the burn unit following surgery to clean and treat severe road rash and open wounds. Our family firmly believes that a guardian angel was with him that evening, Annette continued. We believe that with love and support, he can overcome the trauma of being a part of this terrible accident at the age of 17. “Despite their pain, all three of them are exhibiting incredible strength. ”.
One count of reckless vehicular homicide and three counts of felony DUI causing great bodily harm have been brought against Komoroski. Over $700,000 has been raised so far on the GoFundMe page created in the wake of the accident. The Samantha’s family is going through a terrible time, and we are thinking of them.
