According to local media sources, the incident allegedly happened on June 6 at the Nandaihe amusement park in Qinhuangdao, Hebei province, China.
An on-the-go roller coaster unexpectedly derailed and came to a stop at the highest point, leaving 11 passengers hanging upside-down in the air, according to a tourist’s video of the incident.
A number of witnesses claimed that the park experienced an unanticipated power outage that caused all roller coasters to remain suspended for more than 20 minutes.
According to a representative of the Qinhuangdao City Culture and Tourism Bureau, power outages are unusual, and the management of the theme park is investigating the cause. Once the backup power was activated, the train could start running again.
Thankfully, nobody was hurt, and the tourists’ health is in good shape. Uncertainty surrounds the possibility of financial compensation for the tourists harmed by the tragedy.
Authorities declared that they would investigate the tragedy’s circumstances and those responsible for the game’s participants’ safety.
Visitors can still currently access the theme park. While others are currently suspended for maintenance, some adventure carousels.
