The best actors in the business make everything appear effortless and simple. In fact, their on-screen performances occasionally appear so natural that we, the audience, can forget the scope of the effort they are exerting. Not to mention the courage it takes to step in front of the camera and put yourself out there in the first place, how often do you stop to consider the work that goes into any given actor’s portrayal?
No, I believe most of us are unaware of how stressful acting can occasionally be as a profession. It’s true that few other professions can offer the same level of fame and fortune, but such success has a cost, and I’m sure there are many actors out there who are dealing with – or have dealt with – tougher circumstances than they would ever admit. In any case, Michelle Pfeiffer, who is always stunning, doesn’t seem to be embarrassed to talk about her past insecurities.
The legendary actress revealed in a recent episode of The Skinny Confidential podcast that she “cried herself to sleep” while filming Scarface because she was terrified of working with Al Pacino.

Nevertheless, in the past, when she was only 25 years old, fresh-faced, and with few acting credits to her name, the actress was a newcomer to the scene who yearned to establish herself in the business. Pfeiffer coveted the part of Scarface’s love interest since the moment she had the chance to play Al Pacino. However, after getting the role, the actress discovered she was utterly terrified of her co-star.
I cried myself to sleep almost every night while watching Scarface, Pfeiffer admitted on the podcast The Skinny Confidential. It was obviously very important to me. ”.

Pfeiffer had played Grease 2 at the time as her only other significant acting role. Then, about a month later, they [the casting agents] called me back for a screen test, she recalled. ”.
Would you be scared to work with Al Pacino?, Pfeiffer asked, before going on to confess that her biggest concern about working with the now-83-year-old, who was already a major star at that point, was that she would be bad. I don’t know about you, but I thought Michelle Pfeiffer was great in Scarface. I guess we can safely say that her fears were unfounded.
