Prior to a publicity outing, Lioness star Morgan Freeman fell ill.
After missing a few stops on the press tour for his upcoming television series Special Ops: Lioness, in which he co-stars with Zoe Saldana and Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman is said to be “fine” after the illness that prevented him from attending.
Strangely, the actor skipped a photocall, a series screening, an appearance on the British program The One Show, and a series screening with Zoe and Nicole. As host Alex Jones acknowledged on the program, Morgan’s cancellation was unexpected because he was scheduled to appear tonight. We are disappointed that he was unable to attend at the last minute.
”.
According to a spokesperson for the 86-year-old actor, Morgan was unable to travel due to a contagious infection, which is what prevented him from attending the press conferences.
Right now, everything is fine for him.
He’s no longer contagious because the infection has subsided. ”.
The Shawshank Redemption actor decided against traveling because of his illness rather than take a chance on infecting other people. The specifics of Morgan’s condition are still unknown, though.
Since a car accident in 2008, Morgan has battled fibromyalgia, which the Mayo Clinic describes as a “disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory, and mood issues.”. ”.
The condition can arise following an event “such as physical trauma, surgery, infection, or significant psychological stress,” and the famous actor had surgery following his auto accident.
He broke his left arm, shoulder, and elbow in the accident, and doctors had to operate on him for four hours to repair nerve damage. In order to promote blood flow, Morgan continues to wear a compression glove on her injured arm.
“I suffered nerve damage and it hasn’t gotten better,” Morgan said in 2010 in reference to his hand.
It won’t move, I’m afraid.
Without movement, your hand will swell. How many times a day does your hand move, on average?
In the upcoming Paramount+ television series Special Ops: Lioness, Morgan will portray US Secretary of State Edwin Mullins. The show centers on Laysla De Oliveira, a female Marine accused of befriending a suspected terrorist’s daughter.
In addition to Morgan, Zoe Saldana plays Joe, the station chief in charge of the CIA’s Lioness Engagement Team, and Nicole Kidman plays Kaitlyn Meade, a CIA agent who deals with senior government officials. The series also features appearances by Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Michael Kelly, Sam Asghari, and Martin Donovan.
There will be eight episodes in the first season of the show, and it is unclear if a second season will be ordered.
Special Ops: Lioness will debut on Paramount+ on July 23, 2023.
