Many people expressed concern over the fact that a newborn child’s ears were pierced at just one day old.

The fact that a baby had her ears pierced at such a young age infuriated TikTok users. They argued over whether it was appropriate. Then there were those who noted that it is common practice in some cultures to pierce a baby’s ears as soon as they are born. People continued to express their worry and anger about Lara’s mother’s decision, saying they believed the infant should have had the freedom to decide for herself when she was older whether or not she wanted her ears pierced.
