Each police officer incorporates a obligation and duty to serve and ensure the community… particularly the littlest and most defenseless individuals.

On October 5, 2019, officers Mercado and Tavera, of the Los Angeles Police Division (Hollywood Division), were doing their standard road watch when they taken note something little and fantastically charming taking after them.

It was a teeny-tiny chocolate puppy that was meandering the lanes of Los Angeles, trusting somebody would spare him.

As before long as this small puppy spotted the two officers, he begun taking after them and asking to be spared.

They chosen to title the small puppy Hobart, after Hobart Blvd. where he was found.

He was distant as well youthful and helpless to remain on the streets all by himself, so the officers chosen to require him with them back to the police station.

The puppy appeared to be in cherish with officer Mercado and couldn’t halt taking after him around. It was cute to see.

The LAPD Hollywood Division posted an adorable video of little Hobart and officer Mercado on their social media, with the caption, “Hobart won’t leave Officer Mercado’s side!! 🥺 #HollywoodHobart”.

In the car ride back to the station, the little puppy happily settled in officer Tavera’s lap and stared with love and adoration at his rescuers.

Little Hobart was so grateful to be saved.

Hobart was conferred at the police station with the honorary rank of K-9. Everyone was simply immediately in love with this little nugget.

But they knew a police station wasn’t the right home for this delicate pup. He needed a home and proper care. So they decided to contact a local rescue organization called Ghetto Rescue FFoundation (GRFF), which had adopted Hobart’s little one.

He received proper veterinary care and vaccinations and was up for adoption. But in the meantime, a video of little Hobart affectionately chasing Officer Mercado went viral, and everyone suggested that the Mercado Police Department take custody of the little boy.

Little did anyone know at the time, agent Alejandro Mercado sent his wife, Quincy Hutchison, a photo of Hobart and she immediately fell in love and asked to adopt the puppy. So a few days later, the Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollywood Division released the long-awaited news about Hobart.

The update said, “A lot of you have been asking what Hobart is up to these days… you will be happy to know Officer Mercado has adopted him, and he is now living the good life with Mercado and his family!”

Everyone was happy with the outcome of this rescue situation. One person commented: “These two should definitely end up together!” Congratulations on your new home in Hobart! »

A few months later, the Ghetto Rescue Foundation posted an update on Hobart, saying, “He is settling in perfectly and our entire family is really happy.”

Little Hobart was definitely in the right place, as we have a large collection of rescue dogs and police dogs ranging from kindergarten through 9th grade. Little Hobart’s ears are definitely growing out, but he’s still adorable.

“Update on Hobart (GRFF name Fidzgit), he’s the most loving and lively puppy. He loves all of his puppy cousins, and will chew on his toys for hours. He’s still learning potty training, and loves the outdoors/play time in the grass!”

I have no doubt that Hobart is having the time of his life with Mercado and his family. It really was meant to be.

GRFF posted, “Looks like he hit the jackpot that day when he was “arrested” for loitering and being too cute,” and we couldn’t agree more.
