Losing a dog is one of the hardest times in life. Nothing can prepare you for this. You spend a lot of time wondering if she has what it takes or if you are the right person for her. There is no cure for pain, but there are ways to ease the pain. Some comfort for the McCraw family came in the form of a new rescue dog who was happy to see them.

Meet Maggie

After losing their beloved dog Mishka to cancer, the McCraw family was devastated by the loss. While they were grieving, Maggie came into their lives and they knew they had to protect her.

Halfway through, Rescue arranged for them to meet in South Carolina, and their meeting was a very rewarding experience. McCraw to Dodo: Melted my heart. I lost another dog a few months before I met Maggie and it was just a date in my mind. I didn’t think I was ready for a new dog at the time.

Mary and her husband Mark immediately fell in love with their new dog. He showed his unique charm on our first date and it seemed like we really connected.

Meanwhile, Maggie hugged her new human father, expressing great gratitude for saving her.

Maggie’s Story

The McCraws were shocked to learn that Maggie had been abused by her former owners and that her sole purpose was to breed. When they were with him, he was alone. After being rescued, she spent time in a foster home with Andra Mack, where she learned to trust people again.

Mack said: He was one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever adopted. When Maggie met her new father, my husband and I looked at each other. Because I knew. It was like a movie. But now it was time for him to move to his forever home in South Carolina, and the McCraw family wanted to adopt him.

Even Mac noticed their connection. He said: “They were meant to be together. The sunlight clearly visible in the video makes us think that their previous dog, Mishka, must have been smiling at the gathering. At this point, we can thank the wonderful people who helped the dog he desperately needed and promised to take care of him. We wish them the best of luck in their new ventures.
