For several months, three beautiful puppies took up residence in the yard of an auto repair shop. The staff were kind, but the puppies desperately needed a real home. Fortunately, they never lacked food, but courtship could not replace the warmth and affection of a loving home.

One of her sisters, Cora, was waiting at her courtyard gate, heartbroken and bereft of her family. She was hoping that someone passing by would save her and her sisters.

When local rescue group Howl Of A Dog learned that three four-legged sisters were living in the store’s garden, they decided to intervene and save them.

When rescuers arrived, they were greeted by three sad faces, anxiously wagging their tails and looking for the love they so desperately needed. They soon noticed that one of them (later named Cora) was limping. Rescuers thanked staff for caring for the dogs and immediately took them to a veterinary hospital.

“Luckily, there was no fracture and her injury healed after a few days of medication,” the rescue shared in the video posted to YouTube.

However, their vet visit uncovered a more serious issue – all three of the puppies were not vaccinated and had contracted parvovirus. If not treated correctly, this virus can be fatal for dogs.

Cora and her two sisters – Kami and Carly – had to be hospitalized and receive medical care. Fortunately, the virus had been detected early, but even so, it can still be very aggressive and progress rapidly.

Out of the three sisters, Kami needed longer recovery time, but fortunately, in the end, all of them made a complete recovery.

Waiting For Forever Homes

Once the sisters fully recovered and received their vaccinations, their personalities slowly began to shine.

At around six months old, they were still quite little but incredibly playful and affectionate with everyone.

While the rescuers adored them and could see just how perfect they would be for almost any family, unfortunately, finding a forever home for the sisters proved to be a challenging task.

Cora, Carly, and Kami stayed at the rescue for more than a year searching for a loving home.

Eventually, Carly’s luck turned around, and after a year at the shelter, she was finally adopted into a wonderful family.

Now, she is living the life she always dreamed of.

What breaks my heart is learning that her sisters, Cora and Kami, still haven’t found their homes. They have been at the shelter for almost two years, waiting for the happiest day of their lives.

According to the shelter, Cora “has a very pleasant temperament, gets along great with all dogs, and is very good with people and children. She truly is a perfect addition to any loving family,” meanwhile Kami “gets along well with all dogs, affectionate and friendly, but a little more timid than her sisters.”

Both dogs absolutely deserve a place to call their own home, especially after everything they’ve been through.
