When we first adopt a dog and bring him into our lives, we often don’t think about the possibility of our dog getting sick.

Then it will definitely happen. Sometimes it’s a minor condition that can be easily treated, but if it’s a big problem, you don’t have much of a choice. Many people cannot afford to treat dogs with serious illnesses, so they have to euthanize them to prevent further suffering. It’s sad and painful, but sometimes people have no choice. In this story, we will talk about a dog who is very sick and in desperate need of medical care.

A heartbreaking post

It was an ordinary day when an employee of the Greenville Humane Society found a dog tied up outside her shelter in South Carolina. The person who left her also left a sad note. Remy is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix who suffers from a serious and rare heart condition that is difficult to treat.

Unable to provide financial support for the dog’s treatment, the owner left the dog outside the shelter. The man wrote: My sister couldn’t care for him like she should have. I think he has an incurable disease. He must be killed as quickly as possible.

I left a message saying the dog should be euthanized.

A local news station called WYFF did some digging and found that the dog had been tied up outside the shelter on Saturday night and was found on Sunday. Rachel Dalport, who works at the Greenville Humane Society, told WYFF: This was someone who really wanted the best for her, but she didn’t know what to do.

He believed that Remy’s owner was not an indifferent person, but someone who truly cared about him and couldn’t do more to help him.

Looking to the future with hope

When shelter staff took Remy in, they discovered he had a grade 6 heart murmur and was suffering from skin conditions caused by malnutrition.

Greenville Humane Society said: This serious condition requires at least an echocardiogram. Depending on what is discovered during the procedure, Remy may require surgery or lifelong medication.

To help Remy, the organization created the Hope Fund, which will be used to treat not only Remy, but also stray dogs in South Carolina in need. “Recently, there have been more sick and injured animals than money,” they said in a statement posted on Facebook. We know that shelter situations are the same everywhere. As time went on, the team helping Remi was able to provide more information about his illness.

The cause of heart failure is presumed to be B1 degenerative valvular disease. This was good news because no more surgery was needed.

But that doesn’t mean he’s out of the woods yet. He is regularly prescribed medication for heart and skin problems and staff hope he will live a long and healthy life.

It’s unclear if Remy has found a new home, but we know there are many great people at the Greenville Humane Society waiting for him and looking out for his best interests.
