Stray dogs are always looking for food and a safe place to rest their heads. They want the people they meet every day to ignore them and give them the help they desperately need. After giving birth to a litter of adorable puppies, Izzy became one of many stray dogs in desperate need of human sympathy and help.

He walked in the door of a dollar store in Jittersville, Virginia, thinking that good people would show him kindness and love. He sat quietly and watched the people through the glass door. With sad eyes he asked them to test him.

Ask for help from good people

Shoppers were heartbroken to see a sad Petey looking inside the store. His body is covered in scratches. They could only imagine the pain he was going through.

From the moment they saw his beautiful eyes, they were fascinated by him. They were determined to help him as quickly as possible.

They hugged and fed him. They told him they were there for him and wouldn’t ignore him anymore.

They called animal control and asked for help with Pittie, later named Izzy. When police arrived and encountered the dog, they realized it was a nursing mother.

After a quick search in the store, they found Izzy’s adorable fur babies. They were vulnerable, hungry and in need of a warm home.

Izzy and her puppies have a roof over their heads

Rescuers carefully picked them up, crated them, and brought the mother dog and her precious pups to the Amelia Animal Shelter in Virginia. The employees welcomed us with open arms. The next day they took him to the vet.

“Mom and the babies went to the vet today and got checked out, pedicures and some meds to get all of them right on track. Everyone is doing good and eating well,” the shelter shared on Facebook.

A mother dog and her cute babies immediately captured the hearts of their owners. They watched their fur babies eat the food they gave them.

Getting love from employees

The shelter staff knew Izzy needed a break from time to time to care for her pups. Izzy’s friends wanted to reassure her that Izzy was now safe and that her life and her babies’ lives would change for the better.

Shelter staff play with him outside, give him treats and kisses. The adorable pup was grateful for their help and love, and his tail continued to wag. Izzy felt at ease knowing that she and her dogs were in good hands. They will never starve or be neglected again.

A dog-loving family continues to thrive at the shelter. They get lots of hugs from their foster friends who love them. Once healthy, they will be put up for adoption.

They will undoubtedly bring great joy to future parents. We are sincerely grateful to the benefactors who opened their hearts and helped our wonderful puppy family. We hope Izzy and her adorable puppies find a home full of endless love and care.
