No dog deserves to live without proper shelter, but most of these four-legged lovers never stand a fighting chance.
Sadie, the mother of an abandoned dog, gave birth to seven puppies while living in harsh conditions without food or shelter. She needed help because she couldn’t take care of the puppy by herself.
When she was first found, Sadie was bound with short chains. Unfortunately, her babies fared much worse than expected.
Sadie’s sad story
A volunteer team of local rescuers swung into action after hearing that the woman who had littered the area needed help. They arrived at the scene within minutes, but unfortunately the worst had come true.
Veterinarian Denisa confirmed that her four puppies crossed the rainbow bridge. Now the mothers were left with only two daughters and one son and needed help to survive.
Rescuers immediately brought them to the facility and began rehabilitation. Both Sadie and her puppy were very thin. He still looked weak and needed 24-hour care for a while. Their history is still unclear, but the rescuers believe that their mother was abandoned by someone.
Fortunately, Sadie and her babies felt the warmth of their cozy home for the first time in their lives.
“Tonight for the first time in their lives they are warm and safe, in a clean room with a cozy bed, food and water by their sides, listening to relaxing music,” the rescue wrote on Facebook.
The Road To Recovery
It took this momma dog around a month to completely come out of her shell. She already felt so much better with the care her rescuers provided, and she definitely regained some of her lost weight.
Sadly, one of her three pups didn’t make it along the way, and now Sadie was left with only two babies – the boy, Treacle, and the girl, Toffee, who turned out to be blind, and they needed special care.
“Toffee and Treacle along with their mum have beaten the odds and grown into happy, healthy pups… But sadly for this sweet family the news isn’t good … It has now become clear both Toffee and Treacle are completely blind,” they wrote on Facebook.
Despite being devastated by the loss of her puppies, Sadie never stopped fighting. She preserved her life sparkle and kept thriving for Treacle and Toffee.
Within months, the three completely recovered and turned into happy dogs. Despite their disability, Treacle and Toffee did amazingly, and soon learned how to live with their condition.
Their caregivers were extremely grateful for being able to save these pups, who have now turned out to be the bounciest, tail-wagging sweethearts!
Sadie, Toffee, and Treacle are doing great today. They are finally in a safe place, far away from the horrible conditions they once had to deal with.
They learned how to socialize with other people and dogs, and they just love spending their time outside. The trio is now in the process of finding their forever home, but their rescuers have no doubt that the right hoomans will show up.
When the time comes, we are absolutely positive that all three of them will find loving families!
