Many people don’t even consider the possibility that homeless people are the happiest people on the planet. However, the case of a man named Caesar proves otherwise. We are lucky to have at least one true friend. Caesar has four. They are all stray dogs and madly in love with this man.
An unusual herd has appeared on the streets of Rio do Sul, Brazil. They may not have wealth, but they have something very rare these days: true friendship and unconditional love.
This amazing story caught the attention of hospital staff who saw first-hand what true friendship between humans and dogs can look like. Hospital worker Chris Mamplin witnessed their unbreakable bond.
Looks like I’ll have to spend another night in the ER. Chris Mamplin worked nights at Alt Vail Regional Hospital, but he never expected his nights to be any different.
It was 3 a.m. when Caesar entered the emergency room, seeking treatment for a lingering illness. But the homeless man was not alone. A pack of stray dogs followed him to the hospital. Everyone waited patiently for Caesar to enter. Neither of them wanted to leave their friend alone. A stray dog is waiting at the door
When Mamplin noticed the dogs waiting nervously outside her front door, she realized something else. All dogs were in good physical condition and appeared healthy and well-cared for. Everything seemed fine to these people. They were all beloved comrades and treated with great care.
“They are all well taken care of and chubby. Seeing them like that waiting at the door only shows how much they are cared for and loved” Mamplin recalled.
While the dogs waited for friends outside the door, Mamplin shared his thoughts on Facebook:
“A simple person without luxury who depends on help to win hunger, cold, pain, and wickedness of the world has by his side the best companions, and the exchange is reciprocal,” she wrote.
Cesar practically gave it all for his buddies. And they reciprocated in the most beautiful way.
It’s not that odd to see stray dogs bonding with homeless people. Friends find each other in need. When a dog attaches to a homeless person, that bond becomes unbreakable. They become buddies for life, depending on each other’s love and support.
When Mamprin talked to Cesar about the dogs, he admitted he would often give up his portion for the dogs to eat. He always put them first, and that’s what made Mamprin’s heart skip a beat.
“Exchange of love, affection, warmth, and understanding… A person who confesses to us that he stops eating to feed them. I don’t know how his life is, why he’s on the street, and I don’t even want to know and judge him, but I admire the respect and love he has for his pets,” Mamprin goes on in her post.
It was probably the longest hour in the dog’s lives.
When Cesar finally finished his treatment, the staff was so touched by their love that they allowed the dogs in while they finished the paperwork.
“Seeing them like this, waiting at the door, just shows how well cared and loved they are. Oh, if everyone was like this… if there was no evil, abuse…” Mamprin’s post concludes.
Having friends such as these ones is rare. Their loyalty is the one thing that money can’t buy.
Living in such a wild world, we often forget what’s really important. You can have as many houses as you want, but if you don’t have what Cesar and his buddies have, you have nothing.
After all, this is a family with so much love that it can’t be put under a roof.
