When Laugh Out Loud (LOL) was rescued from a hoarding situation in Kansas City and taken to Unleashed Pet Rescue and Adoption in Mission, Kansas, the shelter staff didn’t anticipate the surprise she had in store.
LOL, a pregnant Chihuahua, found herself in the care of the shelter, and her foster mom, Josie, prepared to welcome her and her expected litter of puppies. However, no one could have predicted the remarkable turn of events that would unfold.
A Record-Breaking Delivery
As LOL went into labor at her foster home in Olathe, Kansas, her caregivers anticipated a typical litter size for Chihuahuas—perhaps four or five puppies at most. But what ensued was far beyond anyone’s expectations. Over the course of a 12-hour labor, LOL astonished everyone by delivering a total of 11 tiny puppies. The unexpected arrival of such a large litter left everyone in awe, especially given LOL’s petite size.
National Puppy Day Surprise
