It is a common belief that cats and dogs hate each other. We have all heard or seen situations where a dog chases a cat and then fights. But how much truth is there in this myth?
good. Scholars seem to believe that although the two men occasionally clashed, they were not exactly enemies.[1]
Anyone who owns both, including myself, can attest to that statement.
special duet
A black dog and a black cat sit
Sassy and Shadow have been together for a long time. In fact, Jackson County Animal Shelter officials don’t remember if the two were ever separated. If you want to know who they are, please introduce them. Sassy is a six-year-old dog and Shadow is a one-year-old cat, and they have an incredible bond. The couple was abandoned by their family and left alone. They got separated but stayed together until help came and someone rescued them.
Lydia Sattler, director of animal services at JCAS, was as surprised as everyone else. He said to the Dodo: These cats and dogs are practically attached to each other. It is very rare to see this.
When the Good Samaritan brought food to Sassy, he was even more shocked that she allowed Shadow to eat it first.
The beginning of a new adventure
The black dog and the black cat are sleeping
When it finally came time to move them to the shelter, JCAS staff didn’t know what to do. The duo seemed inseparable and any attempt to separate them would be counterproductive. Sattler said: When they got here we didn’t want to separate them, but there was a room for the dog and a room for the cat. However, since I had a room big enough to accommodate several cats, I decided to put them in this room so they could live together. When they finally arrived at the shelter, not much had changed. They spent most of their time sleeping, eating and playing together. The shelter staff was amazed by the loving bond between the two and knew they had to find a new home together.
They spent a lot of time trying to find a family that would take them both in, and after a month they were successful. He said: They finally found the perfect home where they could continue their relationship. They continue to spend time together and no longer worry about hunger. Sattler has been keeping her new family updated on the adorable duo and is thrilled that they have found a wonderful home with a loving and caring family.
If you weren’t convinced that dogs and cats could be friends before this story, I hope this story changed your mind.
