During a live Got It From My Momma podcast recording at Nashville’s CMA Fest last week, Luke Bryan’s mother LeClaire recalled the time her country star son and his wife Caroline adopted their nieces Jordan and Kris and nephew Til after both the children’s parents passed away.
Oh, that was just amazing. LeClaire spoke with podcast host Jennifer Vickery Smith as Caroline Bryan sat by her side. “All they said was, ‘Here we are, let’s keep it together. Everyone was distraught, and praise the Lord that Luke and Caroline simply welcomed them into their homes and hearts.
The superstar of the country music business is renowned for both his enormous country successes and his endearing antics, but his family has also endured heartache on numerous occasions.
Bryan’s older sister Kelly unexpectedly passed away in 2007 from unknown causes, leaving behind her husband Ben Lee Cheshire and their three children. Jordan, 16, Kris, and Til, who were then 13 and 16 years old, were left without a living parent when Cheshire passed away in late 2014, seven years after he had been alive.
Bryan and Caroline raised the children in addition to their own two sons, Tate and Bo. Click play to see LeClaire describe the terrible events of losing her daughter and then seeing Bryan take on the duty of raising the kids.
Later it was revealed that LeClaire and Caroline had acquired matching wrist tattoos in Kelly’s honor.
LeClaire yelled, “Redbirds.”. “For my daughter,” the speaker said.
